Five for FRIDAY!

How did Friday get here so quickly? What a speedy fast week it was! This week really felt groovy...as if my class found their groove and could really feel and see all they have accomplished. I'm excited to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share five random things from my week.

When I saw this shirt at Meijers, I knew I had to have it! The bad news is, there are only six legs on the spiders!?! I didn't notice that until I got home. Oh well...

Number Two:
This is a picture from the night after the eclipse. Did you see the eclipse? I drove out of my way so I could catch a glimpse on my way to school. Doesn't this moon look spooky? I take so many pictures of the moon and they all end up looking the same...
Number Three:
Look at these three faces. I managed to get this picture on our Field Trip. I can't imagine doing anything better than teaching.

Number Four:
Here is Farmer Nancy. She is amazing. She does an amazing job teaching young people about nutrition. This is my all time favorite trip mostly because of Farmer Nancy! One of my owlets said, "I want to stay here forever!"

Number Five:
Just about every day we get a letter or two in the mail. I'm hoping all twenty five letters will soon join! Why did I pick only six students to pose for this picture? 'Cause I only have six! Crazy, isn't it?
I love the Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom alphabet exchange!  Thanks, Chrissy at First Grade Found Me!

I'm off for a long four day weekend!

Alphabet Exchange: The Letter L!

Have no fear...The letter L is near! I'm participating with 25 other teachers across the United States in First Grade Found Me's Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Alphabet exchange. Some of us are frantically making 26 of one letter to send to the other 25 teachers. In the end we will have a kid made collection of every letter of the alphabet from around the country. Tomorrow I mail our letters. Today I reveal one of them...
A lovely ladybug L!

I Just Got a Letter!

I have been waiting eagerly for my first "letter" to come in the mail! Today was my lucky day. Actually I found the letter in my mailbox yesterday, but I got to share it with my class today.  I've been a little nervous about what to do with the letter "G"  I get to send out to 25 classes across the US and Canada. Don't worry, I'm not going with my original idea of chewing green gum and having students make "gs" with them and sticking them to the letter. Some thought that would be too "germy" and well I don't want to "gum" up my new Paper Monster laminator. I do have an idea that is simple and germ free! (More on that when they are done!)

I am participating with a group of early elementary teachers to make one letter of the alphabet for classrooms across the US and Canada. That's why I was so excited to get the letter F from a school in California. It wasn't just any school. This school is home to students who have parents serving in the US Navy. These are the children of parents who have dedicated their lives to keeping our country safe and free. They spend six months at a time out at sea patrolling our waters and keeping us safe from harm. I want to say thank you to those students for their amazing letter f and to the teachers dedicated to teaching these special kids. I saw this picture on a friends facebook page and want to share it
with you...
