Do you remember the 80s?
I remember them fondly because great things happened for me in that
decade! I graduated and got my first
teaching job in the 80s. I met and
married the love of my life in the 80s.
Here’s a list of some more firsts for me in the 80s: first car, first house, first cat, first
garden, first motorcycle ride, I could go on and on, but I won’t!
Today I spent some time at a car show with my husband. I’m not crazy about car shows, but I love
spending time with my husband and watching people. I kept my eyes open for cars from the
eighties and this was my favorite one:
Here it is....The Delorean! If you can't remember the 80s you can get this car travelling 88 miles an hour and go back in time! |
That is another thing that I loved about the 80s…Back to the
Future and other great movies!
Now I have a great
move for you! I have teamed up with Dana
Lester at Fun in 1st Grade for an 80s Give Away to celebrate 80 followers together.
We have 8 ways for you to enter and we are each giving away prizes to four
lucky winners! You can enter with me and
then be sure to go visit Dana for another chance to win! Who wouldn’t want the 80s Glam pack of Sharpies? I would like to enter to get
the 8 dollar gift card to Starbucks! Don’t
wait 8 minutes or even 8 seconds to enter below. I can hardly wait to see what your favorite
thing from the 80s is!
Good luck to everyone who enters...May the force be with you!
I wasn't born until the 90's however Dana reminded me of Alf. I LOVED that show as a kid growing up.

Yes Trapper Keepers were pretty sweet!

What a cute idea! The 80's were great for me, too! I guess I would have to go with the music of the 80's as one of my favorite things...Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Loverboy, I could go on and on.

Watching music videos on VH1 or MTV instead of all these ridiculous reality shows. I loved the movies, and tv shows. (whose the boss and my two dads) Music was so much better too! Whitney Houston was probably the most listened to on my tape player. I remember my parents bought a brand new car. It was a 1988 silver Bonneville. I thought we were the coolest family on earth because we were able to buy a new car rather than a used one. :)
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, and my birthday! (1981)

ReplyDeleteSharpies? I'm IN!! Only thing that would make me "in" faster would be Duck Brand duct tape!! Hmmm . . . favorite thing about the 80s? Working on campus and having a blast cleaning showers w/ straight bleach? No, hanging out w/ some awesome people, including those who are now awesome teachers w/ awesome give aways!

I am going to an 80s party this weekend! I cut up a gray sweatshirt and am wearing it like Alex from Flashdance. :) I remember having the Flashdance RECORD...yes, RECORD and making up our own dance routines to the music. My friends and I did that with Footloose too.
ReplyDeleteFavorite 80s TV shows: Who's the Boss & Growing Pains
My 80s Idols: First Olivia Newton John and then Madonna (Madonna drove my dad crazy!)
Favorite 80s Movies: If John Hughes made it...I loved it!
oh! I thought of something else I LOVED in the 80s! When I was 14 (1986), I spent the whole summer reading the VC Andrews' series of Flowers in the Attic and many, many other of her titles. I haven't read any of her books since the early 90s. I wonder if they would hold my interest still or if it was just a teen phase? :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to come out of the 80s was ME!! :-) I was born in 1988 so I don't remember too much about this time but I do remember cassette players. Does that count?? :-)
